For anyone who doesn't yet know, the Cannock crop is closing down. Here is the note I have sent out, but I am aware I don't have emails for everyone so I hope anyone I have missed will see this. I love my scrapbooking and will still be keeping the blog, so keep coming back xx

I don't know where the weeks go! I have been a terrible blogger! I'm not giving up on my blog, in fact, I hope to do more as I discover new and wonderful things. For those involved in the crop, I have let the committee know I am standing down as chairperson in September. I have loved the last 7 or 8 years, but for a variety of reasons, its time to move on. I have reached the phase of life where I am a bit braver, and I listen to that little voice within me that says there are other things that need my time more. It's not the end, I will attend sometimes and stay in touch with the amazing friends I have made. Onwards and upwards :-)

Happy Easter

Well, you know I am a Tim Holtz fan! I just wanted to share his latest creation for Easter. Amazing! You can find out more on his blog http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/04/happy-easter.html
I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. We are going to church tomorrow and will have a family get-together at our house afterwards. Spring is fast becoming one of my favourite times of the year. We bought some shrubs from Penkridge market this morning to fill in some gaps. Looking good now :-) We also popped in to Gailey garden centre. They have a bit of a sale on some of their craft stuff. It's worth a look if you are local. Before you get into Penkridge (from the Wolverhampton side) there is a little shopping area on the right. They have a chippie, Co-op, and a newsagents that sells some quite good American imported craft mags, including Creating Keepsakes. Could be a day out?

Tea Bags
Although I don't drink tea, I may have to buy some to play with the bags! I love what Cloth, Paper, Scissors has done with them. Take a look here: http://www.clothpaperscissors.com/blogs/clothpaperscissorstoday/archive/2012/03/14/how-to-use-tea-bags-in-fabric-art.aspx?a=cpe120316

Be patient with me! I am still having problems uploading photos. I can upload other peoples or pinterest photos, but not my own! Anyhow, here's my version of the picture from a couple of posts ago. This is the one I made for my lovely daughter-in-law Martha. Fun and easy to do too. I got a frame from a charity shop, removed the glass and painted the frame with Annie Sloan chalk paint- amazing stuff! I rubbed it back a little and wrapped a length of wire around the board. I added some cut out triangles of paper, made some little embellishments using chipboard and my Big Shot, and there you go!We just got back from 10 days in Lanzarote. I took my art journaling holiday kit (that's fun to put together) and enjoyed some quiet evenings creating. I sometimes find it easier to create with less stash around me. Less choice = more imagination. Only downside? I forgot to take my scissors out of the pencil case in my hand luggage and got stopped at customs leaving Lanzarote! I kept denying I had anything sharp, and was very embarrassed when the customs man opened my pencil case to find the dangerous weapon lol! He wagged his finger at me and smiled, and put them back in the pencil case. Must have been an artist himself :-) I finished my little book and am on to the next one. I got a nice leather bound A4 journal from The Paper House in Stafford. It was £7 in their sale reduced from £20. It seems nice and sturdy. Hobbycraft have some good deals on at the moment too, managers specials. One more piece of news, Vicky who used to come to the crop sent me a lovely note to say she has a new job. She is running the Cafe at the brand new Dunelm Mill store where MFI used to be. They will be stocking the fantastic fabric rolls in again! That's great news, and we get to say Hi to Vicky too. I think it opens next week.

Not forgotten!
Hello everyone. I'm sorry I haven't updated my blog in quite a while. I have been having problems uploading photos and haven't been able to sort the problem out as yet. Will get my son on it on Saturday. I had tons of Christmassy things to post but it just didn't happen. Still, onwards and upwards :-) Its a new year and I love that! There is something wonderful about new beginnings. Use them to motivate you into making the changes that you want in your life, I am! It's the crop on Saturday. It will be good to see everyone. I need to get on with a demo- eeekkk! I have embryonic ideas but that's about it. How about setting some creative goals? I plan to work more on the life history albums that have been in progress for ages. What are your goals?
