CrEaTiVe

getting creative! I am in the zone ha ha! At the moment I am working on a monoprint for my niece who is expecting a baby any day. I did one of some retro shoes for my daughters birthday, pictured above. I've been playing with fabric scrapbooking too, and I made a page for my son and daughter-in-law of their lovely baby Scarlett. I lightly glued the fabric and elements in place before hand stitching round the whole thing! It was a labour of LOVE, believe me. But creating feels so good, and I am loving sewing while I watch TV. I somehow don't feel like I am wasting my time.

Fabric flowers

I've loved making these flowers! My idea was to make paper flowers, and I did some, but moved on to fabric and couldn't stop! I roughly cut out the flowers, stitched 3 or 4 graduating sized flowers together by sewing a button on the top, dipped them in fabric stiffener (you can make your own by mixing pva and water half and half) and then shaped them whilst drying with a heat gun. You need to seperate the layers a bit and scrunch it all up! I held the petals in the shape I wanted by using a pricking tool or scissors and dried it till it kept its shape. If you try it, don't get the heat gun too close- there is a risk it will catch fire:( Add a bit of Ranger Stickles around the edge, and a little ink if you like and it's done. Let me know how it goes.

Saturday

These crops come round so fast- thankfully! I'm not sure what to do for the demo- not because I don't have any ideas (that's never my problem!) but because I can't choose! I have been having a bit of a creative binge lately- there is no satisfying me:)I'm flitting like a butterfly from one new technique to another. I may just bring a bit of everything. I borrowed Donna Downey's 'Fabric Scrapbooking' from Trish last week. I love it! I must admit I wasn't looking forward to giving it back on saturday, then lo and behold, the postman delivered me a copy this morning!! My lovely hubby must have picked up that I love it. Maybe he noticed that I have taken it everywhere with me for the last week. Bless him. He's a keeper. Hope you can join me for the crop.
