Tea Bags

Although I don't drink tea, I may have to buy some to play with the bags! I love what Cloth, Paper, Scissors has done with them. Take a look here: http://www.clothpaperscissors.com/blogs/clothpaperscissorstoday/archive/2012/03/14/how-to-use-tea-bags-in-fabric-art.aspx?a=cpe120316

Be patient with me! I am still having problems uploading photos. I can upload other peoples or pinterest photos, but not my own! Anyhow, here's my version of the picture from a couple of posts ago. This is the one I made for my lovely daughter-in-law Martha. Fun and easy to do too. I got a frame from a charity shop, removed the glass and painted the frame with Annie Sloan chalk paint- amazing stuff! I rubbed it back a little and wrapped a length of wire around the board. I added some cut out triangles of paper, made some little embellishments using chipboard and my Big Shot, and there you go!
We just got back from 10 days in Lanzarote. I took my art journaling holiday kit (that's fun to put together) and enjoyed some quiet evenings creating. I sometimes find it easier to create with less stash around me. Less choice = more imagination. Only downside? I forgot to take my scissors out of the pencil case in my hand luggage and got stopped at customs leaving Lanzarote! I kept denying I had anything sharp, and was very embarrassed when the customs man opened my pencil case to find the dangerous weapon lol! He wagged his finger at me and smiled, and put them back in the pencil case. Must have been an artist himself :-) I finished my little book and am on to the next one. I got a nice leather bound A4 journal from The Paper House in Stafford. It was £7 in their sale reduced from £20. It seems nice and sturdy. Hobbycraft have some good deals on at the moment too, managers specials. One more piece of news, Vicky who used to come to the crop sent me a lovely note to say she has a new job. She is running the Cafe at the brand new Dunelm Mill store where MFI used to be. They will be stocking the fantastic fabric rolls in again! That's great news, and we get to say Hi to Vicky too. I think it opens next week.
