CHA and Heidi Swapp

This is a video that Heidi took at this years CHA. There is so much inspiration on it- so many must-have's:) I'm trying to curb my desire for more stash but failing miserably at the mo! Take a look and I guarantee you will feel the same!

..........and another one

http://www.stickywords.net/ I need some of these! When we become empty nesters (less than 3 weeks) I am going to need something good to throw myself into, so I plan to reorganize and redecorate. Actually, my health is not good enough at the mo, so I will be doing the planning and hopefully Kevin will be doing the work! (It's OK - he never reads my blog, so I will make him think its his idea) One of these phrases would be great for the guest bedroom. I may even write my own little verse.....

the writing on the wall..........

I have always loved words. They can evoke stong feelings, and have so much power both positive and negative in our lives. I love the 'new' (I saw an 18th centuary National Trust house that had sayings in most rooms!) trend for having words, quotes, verses, on the wall in our homes. In my scrap room I have 9" tall vinyl lettering that I bought in America that says "enjoy the journey". I love it. It reminds me to enjoy the process and not just focus on the results. These words are just giant rub-ons. I like this site http://www.wallwords.com/ which has some cool ideas :) There are others that offer similar things too. Here's a couple of pics from wallwords to get you started. If you want to make your own you can cut great letters on the Cricut Expressions up to 12" high. I did this and stuck 'The Dowd's" over a family photo display in our hall. It worked well.

How cute is this????

This is my granddaughter Phoebe enjoying wearing her latest fashion item- sunglasses:) She loves to pose for the camera now too! She's had lots of experience of that as Grandma never goes far without her camera. The other pic is of my second granddaughter, Sophie who is now 7 weeks old. I took this at her blessing, which is our equivalent of a christening. No water involved though- as children in our church get baptised when they are 8 years old. I am excited about getting these printed so I can start making some things with them, but I am stacking up till I
have a few hundred to do (I kid you not!)

Photo catch up

Here's some pics of the class I did at home.
I hope it was enjoyed by all- they all certainly produced some nice results! We altered some letters that I bought from Dunelm, really an enjoyable project. Thanks to those who came, and for those who wanted to, you are first on my list for the next class :)

Saturday's Crop

Having recovered from a nice holiday in Devon, I am working on the class for saturday. It's a cool project that Trisha found, using A5 acrylic menu holders. You are going to love it! I was concerned that the menu holders wouldn't make it in time, but I just came home to a note through the door to say a parcel is at the post office for me- so I thinkwe are in :) My other concern is that I have to drill 2 holes in them- eeek! Hope I do it without breaking any! The class will be in the morning, around 10 ish.
